Gateway to Recovery
Success at Gateway is measured by the people, who, through diligent and committed efforts, stay in the Program for the recommended year.
As a result of that commitment, their lives are restored; and often times relationships with loved ones and friends that seemed unsalvageable are also restored.
The individuals pictured below have demonstrated by their actions, their full committment to themselves by remaining clean and sober, consistently sharing with others their experience strength and hope, and continue to exhibit the principles of the program, acting as role models to people new in recovery,
Well Done!!!
In the beginning Dave was sure he would leave after a short stay. After 90 days he had convinced himself to stay for at least a year. He was appointed to staff and is now the Program Manager and an integral and vital part of our team
Bill B.

After coming to Gateway, Bill decided that a life on public assistance and a monthly check from Social Security was not the best he could do for himself. He has enrolled in College pursuing a degree in Social & Human Services and is employed as a Certified Peer Support Specialist for Community Care Services. He is the first of many in our program pursuing the path of a Certified Peer Support Specialist, and ultimately Counseling and Therapy.
Brad G.
Brad celebrated his 1st Sober Birthday in October of 2008. In February of 2009 he returned to work at Ford Motor Company.
"Multiple Year Birthdays"
"Eddie" T.

Paul P.
Paul, celebrated two years in 2008 and looks forward to his third sober birthday soon.
Mike Q.
Mike is one of the Managers in the largest Men's Facilities. He has made a tremendous change in his life employed as a Kitchen Manager now. When not working, taking care of house issues, or actively working a Program of Recovery, Mike is busy parenting a young son that is happy to have an active and sober Dad back.
Tim S.
Tim came to us in July of 2008 convinced he really had no problems. Thanks to his tremendous attitude and efforts he has embraced recovery and speaks to various groups in the Community, especially young people. He now works, goes to College full-time where he earns straight "A's", and is active at Gateway as an Alumni Member of our Staff.
Kevin O'.
Our Executive Director recently celebrated his 9th year of recovery with the men and women of our program. He is active in the Recovery Programs at the Homes.
When not working with the business side of Gateway, or going back to shool where he is currently enrolled with a 12 credit hour load, (with a 4.0 GPA), he leads group therapy on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Kevin was a resident of one of the homes in California for over a year in 2000. As a result of his stay there, he was able to get sober and later, start our Michigan program.
